Joseph Wan Ho Fung is a multidisciplinary designer dedicated to craft new experiences for culture, art and design with emerging technologies. With a background in industrial design and engineering, he co-founded Unlimited Institute Ltd, where he facilitated cross-cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and Southeast Asia—focusing on health, nutrition, and cultural preservation projects in Cambodia during the early stage of his career.
While working at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he contributed to educational projects, developed automated production line tools, and honed his skills in 3D printing, prototyping, machining, and integrated manufacturing processes.
He earned a Master's in Data-Driven Design from the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht in 2024, where he refined his work for Dutch Design Week and London Design Festival. With his recent project, Board of Dinner – XAI for Empathy, he explores the intersection of human values and Ai technology, aiming to understand and foster empathy through design and innovation—in the hope of exploring new approaches to human-object affordance.
