Description:
[UNsign] asks the questions: _Can products be designed without showing any sign of human touch? Can there be a perfect painting without a signature?_
The Stonecraft Cambodia project embodies the Unsign philosophy, embracing an anonymous, nature-inspired design essence that merges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics. The designs draw inspiration from naturally formed rocks, fossils, and weathered pebbles to create an uncommon fusion of industrial products and the touch of nature—blurring the line between man-made objects and natural artifacts shaped over millions of years by Earth’s processes.
By collaborating with Cambodian stone crafting artisans, the project integrates the traditional Khmer material used to construct the Angkor Wat temple into modern-day products, creating functional objects that reflect the timeless beauty of this ancient craftsmanship.
This project seeks to reimagine the way we perceive traditional craft and industrial products, while also shedding light on a declining art form and its cultural significance.
